About Notaries Public

A notary public is a state officer commissioned and appointed by the California Secretary of State to serve the public as an impartial witness in performing a variety of fraud-deterrent acts related to the signing of important documents.  As a public servant, a notary acts as an impartial witness in taking acknowledgments, administering oaths, executing jurats, and performing other acts authorized by state law.  Notaries lend credibility to the authenticity of certain sensitive legal documents by verifying the identity and willingness of a signer.  A notarized document is assurance that it’s signer personally appeared in front of the notary and signed the document of his/her own free will.

About Signing Agents

Signing agents are notaries public who have specialized training in the proper execution of real estate loan document packages.  Notary signing agents are usually hired by mortgage companies, escrow companies, title companies, and signing services to facilitate the signing of these documents by the principals involved in the transaction.  The timely and accurate completion of this critical part of the process is what enables real estate loans to be funded.

Hello there!  My name is Lisa Vaca.  I am a commissioned notary public and certified loan signing agent here in San Diego, California.  Being born and raised in San Diego, I know my way around the entire county pretty well, which has been quite helpful in my success as a mobile notary. My work as a signing agent has me doing two great things that I've always loved: meeting people and helping people.  Prior to my notary commission I served in roles ranging from administrative assistant to executive secretary (and everything in between) so becoming a notary public signing agent was a natural transition for me. It is a job that requires a high level of professionalism, organization, and discretion, combined with a cheerful disposition and the ability to communicate effectively while accurately executing the notarial acts. I just love it!
